A total of 2,047 visitors went through the doors for PATS Telford, at the impressive Telford International Centre, making it the second highest PATS attendance figure ever.

PATS Telford was a great success, delivering an unrivalled platform for the launch of hundreds of exciting pet product innovations.

Organiser Gordon Thomas said companies exhibiting at PATS Telford were pleased the quality of delegates was of the highest standard.

“Exhibitors told us they met with the key decision makers and buyers, and that was good to hear because we put in place measures that ensured the right people attended.

“Overall the response to PATS Telford has been excellent, and proves that the pet industry is firmly behind this show.”

Our customers

We were proud to see some fantastic representation at the event by our long-standing customers.

We have worked with Symply on their premium Canagan brand since 2012. The strength of the brand has now seen the team rolling out their success to Europe, the US, Japan and recently China, with adapted or translated packaging.

It was also great to see the Pets Choice stand looking so impressive, all out with their Meatiful chubs rebrand!

We were pleased to catch up with customers old and new including IPN, Pero Foods, Hilton Herbs and Interpet.

New products launched

We were a big fan of the Pet Remedy – Party Season Survival Kit. It was the recipient of the event’s Best Pet Care Product Award. The product claims to be everything you need to keep your pet calm and relaxed during party season.

It features a plug-in, a spray, and wipes designed to calm your pet when fireworks are going off. Perfect timing for the seasonal festivities!

One industry theme we have seen in the last year is the ‘humanisation’ of pet products; products that are catered for pets who are just as big a part of the family as those stood on two legs.

An example of this was Paw Naturel’s Rub & Scrub Heart Shaped Cleansing Bar. Winner of the events Grooming Product Award, the judges said this product would make a good gift, and liked the fact it is long lasting, paraben and sulphate-free, and eco-friendly.

New product pats telford pet food

Another example of a ‘humanised’ pet product that we saw at PATS Telford was the “nutritious and delicious” drink for dogs, Slurps.

They come in resealable and non-resealable pouches that remind us of hydration products aimed at human runners and athletes! Which makes sense, considering Slurps are designed to keep dogs hydrated. According to Slurps, 2 out of 3 dogs don’t drink the daily recommended 50ml/kg bodyweight, so this product tackles a very important issue.

What the delegates said

Wendy Appleby of Wentworth Pet Supplies said: “It’s perfect because it showcases everything a pet store could possibly want.”

Debby Knight, of The Bristles Dog Grooming, commented: “It was the best PATS I’ve attended. The ambiance of the whole event was excellent and as usual very well laid out. I

stayed for both show days and it was well worth it.”

And Nikki Harris, Director of TFM Countrystore, Lincoln, said: “It was the best PATS show I’ve attended. The effort put into some of the displays was outstanding, and we met so many enthusiastic and passionate suppliers.”

When is the next event?

The focus now turns to PATS Sandown in Surrey, which is being held on Sunday and Monday, 10th-11th February 2019. For more information, visit their website here.
