HotTea Mama, a brand known for its high-quality tea ranges designed for women’s wellness, was looking to expand its product line by introducing a hot chocolate range. Law Print provided the perfect solution with digitally printed pouches – a new service that we recently introduced to help smaller and start-up businesses.

As an existing tea brand, their products traditionally came in boxes, but for this new offering, they required a more suitable packaging format that would maintain brand integrity while accommodating their unique needs.

The brand wanted a packaging option that was not only visually appealing but also aligned with its sustainability commitments. Given the nature of hot chocolate, the packaging needed to preserve product freshness while ensuring ease of use for customers. Additionally, the packaging needed to be versatile enough to support the brand’s various SKUs and volume needs.

HotTea Mama faced several packaging challenges for their new hot chocolate range. Their existing packaging format in boxes was not ideal, as it required a format that preserved freshness and provided better handling. They had multiple SKUs with varying volume needs, necessitating a flexible packaging approach that allowed for efficient production without excessive costs. The brand also wanted a sustainable and recyclable solution that aligned with its commitment to environmental responsibility. Achieving a specific gradient effect in the packaging design was crucial to maintaining brand aesthetics and creating a strong visual impact on shelves.

We collaborated closely with HotTea Mama to identify the best packaging solution for their new product. Through a consultative approach, we recommended the use of Stand-Up Pouches (SUP), which provided several benefits. Digital print technology allowed for cost-effective production across multiple SKUs, meeting their diverse volume requirements and allowing for small-batch production where needed. We sourced a recyclable packaging option that aligned with their brand’s environmental values, ensuring minimal impact on the planet. Our expertise in digital printing ensured the gradient effect was precisely executed, maintaining the brand’s signature look while enhancing shelf appeal. The SUP format provided superior product protection, ease of storage, and resealability for customer convenience, which is essential for products like hot chocolate.

The development process included several stages to ensure the perfect fit for HotTea Mama’s needs. First, we explored different sustainable materials and ensured that the chosen recyclable structure met both brand values and product protection requirements. Various pouch sizes were tested to determine the most efficient and user-friendly format for each SKU, ensuring a balance between design, volume, and cost. Our digital printing expertise was leveraged to fine-tune the gradient effect, ensuring consistency across all SKUs. Before full-scale production, trial runs were conducted to ensure print quality, material performance, and resealability met expectations.

HotTea Mama introduced two distinct hot chocolate products: ‘Go With The Flow’ Lactation Hot Chocolate (280g) and ‘And Breathe’ Ashwagandha Hot Chocolate (280g). Both products required premium packaging that not only reinforced the brand’s aesthetic but also provided practical benefits for storage and use. With features such as Single Lip Zipper, Easy Open Cuts and Rounded Corners, the designs were printed using a Digital CMYK process with a Full Matt Finish, ensuring a high-quality, premium look.

The final packaging solution successfully met all of HotTea Mama’s requirements. It introduced a functional and flexible packaging format that improved usability compared to traditional boxes. The MDOPE / LLDPE material structure used was sustainable and recyclable, aligning with the brand’s eco-conscious mission and helping it maintain its commitment to the environment. A high-quality, visually appealing design effectively incorporated the desired gradient effect, strengthening brand recognition and shelf presence. The cost-efficient digital printing solution enabled the brand to manage multiple SKUs with ease and maintain agility in its product line-up.

This project was an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a brand that values high-quality packaging and has a meaningful purpose behind its products. By leveraging digital print technology and sustainable materials, we provided HotTea Mama with a packaging solution that complements its new hot chocolate range while supporting its brand ethos.

I’ve really enjoyed working on this project with HotTea Mama. As a new account for Law Print, and with them launching a new product they trusted us with, I worked closely with their team to find a solution that not only fits the product but also aligns with their brand and meets their needs.
