“Working with the Honestly Good Smoothie Co. on my first real project for Law Print didn’t come without its challenges, however by keeping in frequent contact with Vikesh and really understanding the design concept they were aiming for, we managed to find an ideal solution just in time for a new launch.”
The Honestly Good Smoothie Co.
What did we do?
We provided The Honestly Good Smoothie Co. with a food-safe, 100% recyclable PE/PE stand-up pouch. Their organic approach and philosophy extend to everything they do, from their transparent and sustainable preparation to re-using or recycling 100% of all packaging to donating 2 meals to those in need for every box they send out.
This allows the final consumer to easily see where to fill the pouch with water before pouring the ingredients into their blender. They aim to source as much of the produce as possible from organic farmers in the UK. Unfortunately, the UK doesn’t quite have the climate for coconuts and mangos, so sometimes they have to look too carefully into selected Soil Association Certified Organic Suppliers for some of the more exotic fruits, vegetables and superfoods.
We also allowed for a see-through window and used a clear Matt PE film which helped give the product a “frosty” look due to the film’s characteristics.
The main reason they came to us was our knowledge of the products & being UK based meaning that any questions or queries could be picked up instantly. They were previously buying directly from China but were not happy with the quality or lead time of the bags.
One of their main priorities was that they really wanted a fill line visible to make the end-users life easier when preparing the smoothies.
Due to the colours being used, it was difficult to add a fill line to the front or back panels due to the visibility. Instead, we were able to print the full design first and then reverse print the fill line on the inside of the back panel. It meant that when looking through the clear window at the front of the pouch, the fill line would be visible.
The only real dilemma we faced on this project was achieving the fill line mentioned above. Plus, delivering the bags prior to Christmas to ensure that the customer had new bags for the initial launch.
