Harringtons’ new advanced dog food product is available in 2kg quad seal bags with folded bottom. These bags are ideal for lightweight applications, especially kibble and dry dog food products. The design of the bag is clean and professional, almost clinical in appearance, to complement the food produced with scientific facts behind it. Bags can be printed in up to 10 colours when Rotogravure process is used. Harringtons chose simplicity and went with less colours but more impact with key variant colours – green for small, red for medium and blue for large.
Mono material plastic can provide the necessary barrier protection for perishable foods, like dog and cat food, as long as they are packed appropriately, especially when exporting the product. Although plastic has received some negative press in recent years, the lighter weight material used for flexible packaging can dramatically reduce production and transportation emissions, as well as overall packaging waste, which makes it the perfect solution to reach a more circular economy.
Pet food manufacturers have also experienced an increased demand for sustainable packaging. IPN were ahead of the curve in this respect as they were the first pet food brand in the UK to use recyclable paper bags with PLA liner back in 2008.
