We’re back from Interzoo 2022 having made lots of connections throughout our time in Nuremberg.
At one of the world’s biggest networking platforms for the international pet industry, manufacturers, wholesalers and service providers from over 60 countries present products for pets and innovative pet supplies.
This makes Interzoo 2022 Europe’s leading pet trade show a key source of inspiration for the international pet industry. Trade visitors get a global market overview of the latest pet food products, grooming aids and accessories for four-legged pets, birds, ornamental fish and terrarium animals.
We met with many of our existing customers and acquaintances, as well as securing many leads for us to follow up with on our return.
Having launched our Ready 2 Recycle range of mono material bags for the first time in 2019, the new and further improved developments attracted a variety of businesses searching for sustainable pet packaging solutions.
Our 100% recyclable Pouches, Flat Bottom, Quad Seal and Woven BOPP bags stood out in the show, as they provide the fantastic on-shelf presentation businesses are looking for; whilst appealing to today’s consumers, who actively seek sustainable and flexible packaging options.
Along with our Ready 2 Recycle range, we had our conventional Pet Care Portfolio on display, including some of our recent work with global retailers, supermarkets and innovative start-up brands.
Many of our valued customers also attended the show, from Canagan, Symply, Yora and McAdams to name but a few.
There was a huge stand-out theme this year – insects! Insect pet food products and insect protein ingredients were everywhere and available from most brands as a whole new category or range extension. Yora, for example, is a leading supplier of insect protein pet food and we’re proud to provide the packaging for their dry dog and cat food.
New Products Showcase
While we were there, we saw a number of new products being launched. There are a number of stand-out themes, such as natural/rustic packaging, bold illustrated packaging design, humanisation, hygiene, insect protein and of course sustainability. Here are a few examples:
Natural / Rustic Packaging
With the sustainability movement in full swing, a lot of companies are looking to advertise the fact they are using sustainable packaging. Using a natural colour scheme or more rustic-looking materials are just some of the ways a brand can easily achieve this.
Characters / Illustration Packaging
Packaging with bold cartoon-like visuals is popular and creates a standout look with its bright and fun visuals.
Humanisation Packaging
Humanisation in pet food is still a large feature this year, with various products entering the pet trade market directly from the human food sector, such as popcorn, chew bars and even Easter eggs – all suitable and perfectly safe for our furry friends!
Thank you to everyone who came to see us at Interzoo 2022 and we look forward to continuing the conversation with you in the future!
